Lisa Griffith is a native of the Washington, DC area, currently living in rural Northern VA.  An artist from childhood, she began experimenting at age 13 creating her first pastel portrait – winning academic and critical praise.
Lisa’s work has ranged through different media including pastels, acrylics, oils, photography, and eventually graphic art. With the evolution of advanced computer techniques, Lisa began what has become a 18 year career as a graphic artist.
Lisa practices portraiture with enthusiasm and innovation. In the last few years, her work has grown in strength and insight – connecting with her subjects with surprising clarity and directness. The demand for her commissioned portraits continues to increase. Recently, she has added landscapes to her repertoire. And in the near future, look for the addition of equine portraits to the Pets & Animals section

In 2008 Lisa's painting of "Max" (Pets & Animals section) was featured in The Pastel Journal magazine as one of "The Pastel Journal Pastel 100 Competition" winners. The painting was awarded an Honorable Mention in this national competition.
